Wisconsin

Wisconsin was the state in which August traveled to his second prolonged stint of being homeless. He spent a period of 3 months, roughly, there and it was the first time he was outside and homeless the majority of the time.

Oshkosh, Wisconsin

A small city in south central Wisconsin, it was where Arenda was raised and August would travel to after being fucked off by his mother and step father. He would spend September through November of 2023 there.

Red Robin

Located along the interstate, August would be interviewed here by his third day in the city but not officially start/be paid until about a month after that initial interview. One of the manager's actually personally bought him the work shoes for the job due to August's circumstances. August primarily hosted or did dishes; really whatever hours were available were happily accepted.

After being invited to do so by one of the older managers, August would move into the shed located in the trash area for a place to keep his belongings and sleep. This was about 2.5 months into his working there. He would then be narc'd out to corporate by one of his fellow employees, and, after being unable to reconcile that fact, walk out of work. This would begin the series of events leading to Wisconsin ending for August.

Arenda's Mother's Home

A two level home (basement, ground floor) - August would initially keep his things on the side of the home. After her mother complained, they would be moved and progressively stolen by other unhoused people.

August would only be able to come inside while Arenda's parents were not there. His final memory of Arenda would be coming out of a blackout drunk as she yelled at him to leave the home angrily, and the subsequent confusion as to what happened still haunts him to this day. They would speak briefly a few times after this event, and then have no contact for nearly 3 years.

Oshkosh Public Library

August would frequent this location as a day shelter when open and often sleep somewhere alongside it due to the free wifi and for signifcant stretches of time open and accessible wall outlets to charge his phone. It was also within short distance of Arenda, which was preferable. He would often sleep on the side facing the Masonic temple.

Food Donation Bins

Bins oftentimes placed outside of churches or other community centers, these were primarily how August fed Arenda and themself until they were able to get their food stamps up and running. Much of the food was not able to be cooked, but it was the only thing that prevented August from starving to death for the first month in WI.
