Welcome to Augwiki

The central archive, field guide, and public record of August Casso.

Welcome to Augwiki.

Having spent years repeating the same explanations, backstories, and warnings into the open air with mixed results, August decided to put everything down in one place. The logic is simple: when everything is documented in public, no one has an excuse for not knowing what is going on, how things work, or what to expect.

Consider this site an open ledger. Over time, it will collect historical accounts, personal records, operating procedures for day-to-day gear and tech, and practical guides for navigating life on the ground. Take what is useful, read as much as you like, and proceed accordingly.

Who is August?

August Casso (b. 1997, 29 years old) is an unhoused creator, grassroots activist, anti-trafficking advocate, web designer, AI prompt analyst, seasoned kitchen veteran, and dedicated substance enthusiast based in Denver, Colorado.

Over nearly three decades on this planet, August has lived several distinct lives across multiple states—sometimes operating under different names when circumstances, safety, or simple common sense called for it. (See full biography at August Casso)

On Truth, Belief, and Public Opinion

A brief note for anyone reading this with skepticism or looking to poke holes in the timeline:

  • Everything documented here is recorded as it happened, told straight without decorative polish.
  • Whether you choose to believe it is entirely up to you. August receives no grant funding, moral bonus points, or personal benefit from your agreement, and loses absolutely nothing if you decide to doubt it.
  • If something here rubs you the wrong way or shatters your expectations of polite society, you are entirely free to be upset about it—preferably at a polite distance, out of earshot. Womp womp.

Areas of Practice & Daily Tradecraft

Attempting to fit August’s background into a neat corporate resume is an exercise in futility. A realistic breakdown of skills, disciplines, and daily operations includes:

  • Web Design & Systems Architecture: Building fast, clean, responsive websites, single-page portals, and workflow automations without bloated budgets or unnecessary code. (See Web Architecture & Modern Builder Stack)
  • AI Analysis & Prompt Engineering: Putting language models and automated tools through their paces to streamline real-world work and solve actual problems.
  • Anti-Trafficking Advocacy & Direct Action: Real, boots-on-the-ground pushback against human trafficking, exploitation, and street-level abuse wherever it surfaces. (See Anti-Trafficking Advocacy & Ground Intervention)
  • Culinary Arts & Kitchen Discipline: Professional line cooking and high-volume food prep skills learned in commercial kitchens, adapted to feed people under any circumstances. (See Culinary Arts & Kitchen Discipline)
  • Writing & Visual Art: Documenting the absurdity, humor, and grit of human nature and street life through direct, unfiltered essays and creative projects.
  • Urban Salvage & Treasure Hunting: Scouring Denver’s streets, alleys, and forgotten corners for salvageable electronics, gear, lost valuables, and practical supplies. (See Urban Salvage & Alley Scouring)
  • Substance Culture & Personal Autonomy: An open, unapologetic relationship with psychoactive substances, altered states, and self-directed chemistry. (See Substance Culture & Neurodivergence)

The Denver Chapter: From Illinois to Wisconsin and Back to the Streets

A lot of people assumed August ended up on the Denver pavement directly because of his dad passing away, but that wasn't what brought him back.

August had originally left Colorado and headed back to Illinois. When his father, Bart Case, passed away, August returned for about a week to lay him to rest. Around that same time, Arenda reached out facing immediate homelessness with nowhere safe to turn. August took her in and secretly kept her housed for about a month to keep her off the street. When his mom and step-dad found out, they completely turned on him and stabbed him in the back over the situation instead of having his back.

Rather than stay around family who did him dirty, August cut ties and headed up to Wisconsin, handling whatever came his way through that whole chapter. Eventually, things in Wisconsin ran their course and ended. With that chapter closed, August headed back to Colorado.

On December 2nd, he touched down on the sidewalks of Denver with zero housing and no safety net right as winter set in. (See main article: The Denver Arrival (December 2nd))

Surviving on the street during a Denver winter is brutal. It means sub-zero nights, city sweeps, staying warm, protecting your gear, and figuring out who you can actually trust. (See field manuals: Denver Street Guide & Ground Survival, Tactical Street Gear & Daily Carry (EDC), Cold Weather Hypothermia Triage) Despite the odds, August didn't just survive—he put down roots.

Through grit, consistency, and street diplomacy, August built community and established a reputation as a steady, reliable, and trustworthy presence in an environment where trust is typically a liability and real loyalty is few and far between. Love him or hate him, you aren't him—so if you feel the need to complain, do it somewhere else.

How to Approach This Wiki

A few straightforward guidelines for reading this site and dealing with August in general:

  • Leave Pretentious Judgment at the Door: Life takes people down strange, demanding, and unconventional roads. If you need everyone to fit into a safe, predictable mold, this site is not for you.
  • Value Direct Honesty: Plain truth—even when sharp or uncomfortable—is always preferable to polite deception.
  • Live with Intention: Life is brief, unpredictable, and rarely fair. August’s goal is simple: make the ride count, stand up for people who cannot defend themselves, and live a life packed with as much grit, adventure, and genuine intrigue as possible.
